On April 3, H.E. Ambassador Yu Dunhai met with Dr. Mario Sammut, Head of the European Parliament Office in Malta, and exchanged views on China-EU relations and issues of common concern.

Ambassador Yu said that China and the EU are comprehensive strategic partners, and the common interests of the two sides far outweigh their differences. China and the EU stand together in supporting multilateralism, an open world economy, mutual cooperation to address global challenges such as climate change, dialogue and communication to resolve global and regional hot issues. China and Europe are each other's opportunities rather than risks, and partners rather than rivals. We are willing to work with the EU to push forward the China-EU comprehensive strategic partnership based on the principle of mutual respect and win-win cooperation.

Dr. Sammut appreciated China's great achievements in social development and agreed to strengthen dialogue and communication to jointly promote the stable development of EU-China relations.
