On 25 October 2023, Chargé d'Affaires Mr Peng Yijun attended and delivered a speech at the launch of the new book “China in Maltese Eyes”. Mr Marshall, Executive Chairman of the Art Council Malta, Mr Cutajar, Chairman of the Heritage Malta, and Ms Yuan Yuan, Director of the China Cultural Centre in Malta were present.

Charge d'Affaires Peng said in his speech that "China in Maltese Eyes" vividly demonstrates China's splendid and long-standing culture and remarkable modern development achievements, and opens a window for the Maltese people to understand the real and lovely China. The book's release coincides with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the China Cultural Centre in Malta. Standing at a new historical starting point, the Chinese side is ready to work with the Maltese side to deepen cultural exchanges and promote people-to-people bonds between our two countries.

The Maltese guests congratulated on the book's release and expressed their enthusiasm to further cultural exchanges and cooperation with the Chinese side and deepen the friendship between the two peoples.

"China in Maltese Eyes" contains the beautiful experiences and insights of dozens of Maltese artists, scholars and media who have visited China, and vividly tells the story of China through the Maltese perspective.
