Official release on Sichuan Earthquake on June 9

According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, as of Monday noon, the death toll in China's major earthquake increased to 69142. A total of 374,065 people were injured and 17,551 others remained missing after the 8.0-magnitude quake that jolted southwestern Sichuan Province and neighboring regions on May 12.

As of Sunday noon, donations from home and abroad to China's quake-hit regions had reached 44.147 billion yuan, and so far, 13.749 billion yuan had been forwarded to the earthquake-affected areas. 950700 tents, 4762700 sets of cotton-padded clothes, 1826300 million tons of power coal, and 854900 tons of petroleum  were delivered to the earthquake-affected areas.

In the 24 hours ending Monday noon, 189 aftershocks were monitored in southwest China's quake zone, according to the China Earthquake Administration. One of the tremors measured between 4.0-4.9 and all the others measured at or below 3.9 magnitude, the administration said.

As of Monday noon, 95169 people injured in the quake were hospitalized, 76554 have left hospitals, 16019 were still in hospitals, and 9410 people were delivered to other provinces, according to the Ministry of Health.

As of Monday noon, 23.443 bil yuan earmarked for disaster relief was allocated by governments at all levels, among which 18.909 bil yuan was from the central government and 4.534 bil yuan was from the local governments, according to the Ministry of Finance.

As of Sunday, 57100 makeshift houses were built in quake-hit areas in Sichuan Province, 23100 makeshift houses were being built, 80800 makeshift houses were to be built, 55500 were on the way and 65900 were to be delivered, according to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.

As of Friday,1383977 people were saved and transferred, according to the Headquarters of the General.
 

The May 12 earthquake that jolted southwest China has caused a loss of 206.51 billion yuan (29.5 billion U.S. dollars) to the country's industrial and mining enterprises as of  Sunday, 4,003 big companies had resumed production, while 1,482 enterprises still suffered suspension in production, according to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
