Beijing, June 05, 2008--The 23th press conference on "overseas Chinese aids to earthquake relief, " was held at 4 p.m., Monday by the State Council information Office.

According to the Ministry of Civil Affairs, as of Thursday noon, the death toll in China's major earthquake increased to 69127. 373612 people were injured and 17918 missed in the 8.0-magnitude quake that jolted southwestern Sichuan Province on May 12. Totally, 45710965 people were affected by the strong earthquake.

As of Thursday noon, donations from home and abroad to China's quake-hit regions had reached 43.764 billion yuan, and so far, 12.795 billion yuan had been forwarded to the earthquake-affected areas. 820000 tents were delivered to the earthquake-affected areas.

As of Thursday noon, 23.184 bil yuan earmarked for disaster relief was allocated by governments at all levels, among which 18.689 bil yuan was from the central government and 4.495 bil yuan was from the local governments, according to the Ministry of Finance.

As of Wednesday, there were 1112864 saved and transferred.

As of Thursday noon, 97631 people injured in the quake were hospitalized, 74165 have left hospitals, 20878 were still in hospitals, and 9595 people were delivered to other provinces.

From Wednesday noon to Thursday noon, 164 aftershocks measuring below 3.9 on the Richter scale had been monitored, 2 aftershocks measuring between 4.0 and 4.9 on the Richter scale had been monitored, and totally 10418 aftershocks had been monitored in Sichuan Province, according to the China Seismological Bureau.
