On the 27th April 2007, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Malta, H.E. Mr. Chai Xi paid a courtesy call on the Honourable Speaker, Mr. Anton Tabone at the Office of the Speaker.

Ambassador Chai and Mr. Anton Tabone commented favorably in their meeting the excellent bilateral ties between the peoples, parliaments and countries in general.

 

Ambassador Chai said that over the past 35 years of the diplomatic relations, China and Malta have established a friendly and close relationship in all fields. He went on to say that the Parliament of Malta and China's National People's Congress have been working hard for the promotion of mutual understanding between the two peoples through exchange of visits. He also expressed that as the new Chinese Ambassador to Malta, he would try his best and do his utmost to further enhance and strengthen the good momentum of the relations to the benefits of the two peoples.
