Greetings From China
2011/07/31

To our friends who are about to embark on a journey to China and those who are
already there, here is a warm welcome and sincere salute from a nation with
5,000 years of civilization and 1.2 billion people, a nation in the process of
reform and opening to the rest of the world, and a nation which beckons to you
with its magnificent landscape, splendid culture, richly variegated folkore, and
a land pockmarked with numerous cultural artifacts, sites of stories and fabled
associations, and new holiday destinations.

You are welcome to take some time out of your busy schedule for a stroll along
the legendary Great Wall, and that may give some idea about the vastness of the
Chinese land and the profound historical implications behind it.
You are welcome to visit the world's "eighth wonder" ----Qinshihuang's mighty
army of terracotta warriors that have lain underground for more than two
millennia.

You are welcome to travel along the Silk Road for a close look at China's rich
cultural heritage and varied folklore.

You are welcome to go aboard a pleasure ship and sail into the Three Gorges of
the Yangtze River, or go boating in the midst of Guilin's picturesque landscape.
We hope you will have plenty of time to see such Chinese cities as Beijing,
Shanghai, Shenzhen and Xi'an. And we are sure that our country's abundant
tourist resources, sophisticated tourist facilities and first-rate service, will
leave you with a deep impression.

What this booklet offers is our little help and warm welcome. We would like to
take this opportunity to extend a warm welcome to all our overseas friends. An
open China is ready to meet your every demand.
