On 19th July, a sport-media symposium on the theme of BEIJING for the 2008 Olympic Games was successfully organized at the China Cultural Centre by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Malta in colaboration with the Maltese Olympic Committee (MOC) and the Malta Sports Writers Association. It is the 2nd symposium held by the Embassy and MOC themed on Beijing Olympics.

Ambassador Chai Xi, the Hon. Clyde Puli, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth & Sport, Mr.Justice Lino Farrugia Sacco, MOC President and Mr.Joseph Cassar, MOC General Secretary were present as keynote speakers.

Also attending were members of former MOC Presidents, General Secretaries, President of the Malta Sports Writers Association, members of Maltese Contigent for Beijing Olympics and sports jounalists from national media as The Times, the Malta Independent, TVM, OneTV, NetTV, Replayonline.tv, Di-ve.com, etc. Participants spoke highly of the preparation works for the Beijing Olympic Games and wished best for the Games and paticipating Maltese athelets.
