The Chinese Government has declared three days of national mourning from 19th to 21st of May, 2008 to express deep condolence to victims of the earthquakes that hit Wenchuan County of Sichuan Province. The Chinese national flag will be flown at half mast at the time. A book of condolences will be opened in the Embassy at Karmnu Court, Lapsi Street, St.Julian's from 10:00 to 12:00 Monday 19th to Wednesday 21st May.

From 15th May a donation box has been set up in the Consular office with Embassy staff providing help wherever necessary for people of all walks of life in Malta.
