Notice on Covid-19 prevention for people traveling to China

In order to reduce the risk of cross-border transmission of Covid-19, starting from 22nd February,2021, all passengers who are to fly from Malta to China are required to transit only once and to upload their itinerary,passport, ID or residence card (or visa) for verification as they apply for a green Health Code (HS) or Health Declaration Certificate(HDC).

Kindly note all passengers are required to take a nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests both in Malta and the transit country. Without a green HS or HDC record issued by the Chinese Embassy in Malta, you are required to take both nucleic acid and IgM anti-body tests twice at different test centers in the transit country. Otherwise you aren't able to apply for a green HS or HDC from the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in the transit country.

Passengers who have taken the vaccine in Malta are required to upload vaccination proof (with name, name of the vaccine, date of vaccination, name of the issurance agency, verification method), negative result of nucleic acid test and the result of IgM anti-body test to the WeChat Health Code App(or https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/H5/). The Chinese Embassy in Malta will review your application of HS or HDC and issue a final decision.

Kindly note all passengers bound to China are to follow the requirements above. Failure to meet the requirements regarding the transit, tests and vaccination could affect your application for a green HS or HDC.
